The right brand image has the ability to set the stage for success. The Curvy Stylist was founded by brand stylist and personal branding expert Sheri Collins.
Meet Sheri
Sheri is The Curvy Stylist. She has built a career for more than 20 years in marketing communications and sales armed with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and strategic vision. She combines her expertise in marketing with a passion for personal style to inspire others to go confidently into the direction of their dreams. Sheri's branding philosophy is grounded in her belief in Psalm 139:14, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; And that my soul knows very well."
Sheri stepped out on faith, resigning from a position as director of marketing communications and sales training at a major health insurer after 15 years, leaving behind the security of a six-figure salary to live a life on purpose. After losing everything in the Great Recession, she moved to New York City with $1000 in her purse, one client and a dream. Today, Sheri is the director of sales and marketing of the public speaking division for The Shark Group with Daymond John, CEO, founder of FUBU and star of ABC’s Shark Tank. Her journey “From Intern to a Job a Million Girls Would Kill for” was shared as a featured blogger in the launch of John's best-selling book, THE POWER OF BROKE in 2016.
As the personal branding expert for John's training program, Sheri taught participants how to design an unforgettable brand identity that is authentic, and purpose driven. In 2020, Sheri was again a featured blogger for the launch of John’s fifth bestselling book, POWERSHIFT, with “7 Questions to Uncover Your Personal Brand.” In 2020 and 2021, Sheri produced John’s “Game Changer Conversations” at Black Entrepreneurs Day with celebrity entrepreneurs, including Kevin Hart, Tyra Banks, and Shaquille O’Neal. The celebration of black entrepreneurship was live streamed to over sixty million viewers worldwide and has won two Webby Awards in its category.
Her spirited style has inspired clients and audiences, both the young and the ageless. Sheri delivered her first TEDx Talk virtually during the pandemic at TEDx Bergen County Academies. In addition, she’s been a featured speaker at colleges and professional organizations including National Association of Administrative Professionals; New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce; Hampton University; Rutgers Business School; University of Texas-Austin; and University of Delaware Diamond Business Challenge.
Sheri considers herself a muse imported from Detroit to New York. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., enjoys crocheting fashionable accessories and is quite the expert home cook.
